80′ Classique

This concept study was commissioned by a Pacific Island resident who wanted a low visual impact (not a show pony) for visiting Pacific Island cultures without overwhelming them with ‘Western’ flash and sparkle. An admirable and sensible sentiment. It shows an unusual awareness and sensitivity of western society’s mindless and thoughtless visual domination of the natural and native worlds.

I had reservations to the starkness of the initial brief and have used some license with the final style. Perhaps a little too much license as I’m no longer associated with the project, although I do wish the owner all success.

I have included it here as I do like the ‘retro’ outcome, although undoubtedly there will be detractors.
